Monthly Newsletter
Dear Parents and Children,
Welcome to Garden School 2008-2009!!
Back to School Week, September 2-5
The first few days of school we will have an "orientation" time instead of starting off with the full program from the first day. The children are scheduled to come in small groups for a short time to allow us an opportunity to spend time with each of them and explain some of the basic procedures, etc. before the first full day of school. By starting slowly, the whole year goes better. It may be inconvenient, but it is worth it. Your child's schedule is attached. If you cannot make your scheduled time, call Jaye 837-2969. Please try to make your times work. It is hard to reschedule several people to make changes.
Tuesday, September 2
The first day will be a short visit with you and your child. (If possible, please leave younger and older children at home. This is a special time for your child, and our space is limited.) Please plan this visit to say "hello", meet the teachers, some other children, and introduce your child to the classroom before they come alone the following day (Wednesday). On Tuesday, plan to stay about 15 minutes and show your child something they can do the next day. Even returning children can feel apprehensive on the first day, especially if they have not been to Summer School.
Scheduling Days and Car Pools
Parents who have enrolled for less than 5 days a week can choose the days they want to attend on Tuesday, September 2. Please try to be as flexible as possible. We will try to coordinate days to help with car pools, meet your schedules and keep our group balanced. It is best to wait until your child is settled in school before starting a car pool.
Rosters
We will have rosters ready as soon as all paper work is in. Please return all forms as soon as possible. You can mail them to Jaye at 421 Montcrest Pl. Danville, 94526. We must have a copy of your child's shot immunization record on the first day of school if the physician's form has not yet been returned by the physician. Chicken pox immunization is required for all children entering school unless you request an exemption.
Handbook
The Garden School handbook is on our website - gardenschool.net - and will be there all year for your convenience. Please read the handbook and return the attached page (we must have a copy in your file for the State Licensing). If you do not use the web, please call Jaye at 837-2969 and she will send you a copy.
Dress Code
Attached is a note about appropriate dress for school. We will discuss these issues with the children at school and ask for your support at home. The goal is to make school a positive place and to help your child participate in all activities, from messy art to running in pea gravel
..
September tuition is due the first day of school or you can mail it to Jaye at 421 Montcrest Pl. Danville, 94526.
(Tuition is due the first day of each month, September through June. Monthly tuition is $330 for 3 days a week, $390 for 4 days, and $450 for 5 days a week plus a $75 deposit / enrollment fee. The total is divided into 10 monthly payments for your convenience. We are a business and your tuition is our only source of income, please pay on time. Thank you.)
We still have 2 openings in our afternoon class. Would anyone like to move from AM to PM??? Would a PM parent like to add a day???
Welcome again!!! We thank you for your support and for sharing your child with us.
If you have any questions, call 837-2969.
See you Tuesday, September 2,
Troy, Karine and Jaye
